Breaking news: Pure Red!
We are happy to share with you the birth of Pure Red: a brand of Esperidio that focuses on the production of Sicilian blood oranges that represents innovation in agricultural tradition.
Pure Red comes from the idea of our Producers Organization, who has long been working with passion and commitment to sprout several varieties of premium blood oranges with a heady scent: tarocco, moro and sanguinello.
Our oranges grow on the slopes of Etna Volcano and under the PGI category, a protected geographical indication. Sweet, juicy and high in vitamins, oranges are ideal for making sweet, savory recipes, drinks and even home-made cosmetic products.
Where do they get this particular red color?
The red colour of Pure Red oranges comes from the combination of two factors: microclimate and fertile volcanic soil of the Piana di Catania.
As a result of the significant temperature ranges present in the areas surrounding Etna, an accumulation of anthocyanins, that is, pigments with excellent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, part of the flavonoid family, is determined in the fruit, giving the oranges this typical red colour, pleasing to the eye and palate.
Where can you find our Pure Red oranges?
We are happy to tell you that our oranges have been very popular both in Italy and abroad and are available, until the end of March, only from our best retail partners, namely: the Esselunga stores in Italy; Migros supermarkets and hypermarkets in Switzerland; and the SPAR chain in Austria.
You will find them in sustainably designed and handy packaging so you can take them home easily and enjoy them in the company of your loved ones, even during the upcoming holidays.
Finally, we would like to inform you that for this year the season of Pure Red oranges is almost over and we would like to thank you all one by one for choosing us.
